The HLTAID001 Provide CPR unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge to assist in a cardiac arrest where CPR ( Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation ) is required. It covers all aspects of basic resuscitation as well as the use of defibrillators in the public setting.

This is a Nationally Recognised unit of competence

Do you just want to learn CPR without the need to complete formal assessments ?

You can attend the normal training in CPR and be "checked" that you are doing it properly but not be formally assessed, and not receive a full Statement of Attainment. This is ideal for people that don't require the certification or who cant complete the required assessments but do want the knowledge. No Statement of Attainment will be issued. No formal assessments. This option is NOT Nationally Recognised.

This unit is designed for those who wish to gain a good understanding of CPR not only for those in the workplace but also for anyone wishing to learn how to perform this essential life-saving skill.

This unit is also suitable for General Practitioners who will be able to gain CPD points following completion.

This Category 2 activity has been approved by the RACGP QI&CPD Program.

Total Points: 5 Category 2 points.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills are needed to attend this course - a guide to this is available here.

Access to a computer with internet, as well as basic computer skills is required for completion of this unit.

Completion of this unit does require the student to be able to get onto the floor to perform CPR for 2 minutes  - this is a licensing requirement of the unit.

If you have ANY special needs ( eg, language / literacy / numeracy difficulties, physical disabilities etc ) that you think may impact on your ability to complete this training please let us know prior to enrolling. 

Face to face training is approx. 3 hours plus the viewing of pre-course videos available on our website

It is required that you watch the CPR videos available on our website to aid in your understanding of CPR.

There will be a short quiz at the beginning of the course on the information contained in the videos, this is to enable the trainer to better guide the content of the course for you.

CPR refresher is recommended annually

There is some theory and practical assessment to ensure that the participant has gained the required knowledge and confidence in the skills covered in the unit. You will be required, as per the Training Package, to complete 2 mins of CPR on a CPR manikin.
